Safe and Trusted Commercial Raw Marine Materials
Dried scallops
Gyoren Hokko dried scallops come from scallop shellfish landed along Hokkaido’s coastal region of the Okhotsk Sea. A special feature of these large scallops is the sweetness and firmness of their meat. And we take our time drying the big nugget-like scallop chunks with shiny, oilless golden brown surfaces, exuding a rich sweet aroma.
Konbu
Some 90% of the konbu harvested in Japan is, in actual fact, top-quality konbu from Hokkaido. Standards are established for each konbu production region to ensure thorough quality control, and the sense of confidence in the Hokkaido brand is what makes their konbu so popular. And, as a company in the Hokkaido Gyoren Group, we make the most of our strong local connection to handle konbu from all parts of Hokkaido, staying well stocked to fill the requests of our clients and consumers.
Dried Abalones & Dried Sea Cucumbers
Dried abalones and dried sea cucumbers were shipped along with shark fins to China in the Edo period under the name “tawaramono sanhin” (three luxury marine products), and, to this very day, the trio are regarded as gem ingredients for high-class Chinese cuisine. Gyoren Hokko’s dried abalones under the Emperor (皇冠牌) brand are highly respected, being, notably, given top-brand status in Hong Kong, a magnet for the world’s best dried abalones. As for dried sea cucumbers, we use ones from Esashi, Hokkaido, because they are known for their premium quality.
